How It Works
Choose a workspace, analyze supported files, and apply selected changes in RenameClick.

RenameClick has three workspaces. Choose Rename for a batch of files, AI Search to find a document or image by its contents and rename or move it on the spot, or Auto Flow to watch folders for incoming files.
Your First Batch
- Select Local AI and install RenameClick Local AI when prompted, or configure another supported provider.
- In Rename, enable Rename, Categorize, or both.
- Add supported files. With Auto Process on, analysis starts when files are added; otherwise click Run AI.
- Compare suggested names and destinations with the files. Edit names and deselect rows as needed.
- Click Rename Selected, Move to folder, or Rename & Move, depending on the enabled modes.
Analysis creates suggestions. Applying writes the selected changes to disk. Rename workspace Undo keeps up to 10 entries in memory and clears when the app restarts; it is not permanent history.

Where Processing Happens
With Local AI selected and its model installed, file analysis runs on your device without internet. The model download is about 4 GB; actual memory use depends on the settings and workload. Audio also needs the separate Audio Transcription capability.
Cloud naming providers are optional in direct macOS and Windows builds and use your API key. They receive content for analysis and can charge for API usage. The Mac App Store build excludes cloud providers. LM Studio and Ollama use the server URL you configure; a remote URL is not on-device processing.
