Choose direct macOS, Mac App Store, or Windows installation, then install the local capabilities you need.

macOS
Choose the download matching your Mac’s processor. Open the downloaded disk image, copy RenameClick into Applications, and launch it. You can also use Homebrew:
The Homebrew cask lists macOS 12 or later. Check the relevant store listing for its current compatibility requirements.
Windows
Install from Microsoft Store, or use:
If WinGet cannot find the package, check the configured sources with winget source list, or open the Microsoft Store listing directly.
First Launch
Open AI & Models and choose the capabilities you need:
- RenameClick Local AI: filename generation and file analysis on your computer. The model download is about 4 GB.
- Audio Transcription: separate local speech processing for MP3, WAV, FLAC, M4A, and AAC. Install this as well for audio naming.
Wait until the capability is ready, then add supported files. With Local AI selected and the required downloads complete, local processing can work offline. Cloud providers need a connection and their own API credentials.
Hardware and Setup
Local AI needs disk space for its model and working memory while processing. About 4 GB of model RAM or VRAM is a useful planning estimate; the operating system and other applications need additional memory. The website recommends 16 GB system RAM for comfortable use.
GPU acceleration depends on the platform and available hardware; CPU fallback can be slower. No fixed processing time is guaranteed. If the model will not start, see troubleshooting.
Activate or Restore Pro
For direct macOS and Windows, use Activate License with your license key or Find My License with the purchase email. Activation and recovery require internet. For the Mac App Store, use Apple purchase restoration. License and device details.
